MAS 110: The new extruder generation from MAS

The demands placed on modern recycling and upcycling systems are constantly increasing. More recyclable plastics are available than ever before thanks to new legislation and ongoing advances and developments in collection and sorting technology. However, growing environmental awareness and the resulting increase in the amount of plastics in the recycling loop has created new challenges, which have long pushed conventional systems to their limits. MAS, the Innovation driver, can now present the result of a short but intensive AI-supported development project: the MAS 110.

Compact and powerful at the same time

It was clear from the outset that the new generation of extruders had to score highly in terms of productivity and throughput. The new MAS 110 extruder now delivers significantly higher output: In the case of PET — 6 tonnes per hour can be processed, naturally with the highest quality melt. At the same time, the MAS 110 retains the flexibility of its predecessors. It is also suitable for all types of plastics and can be used in a wide range of applications, including chemical recycling, for example. Despite the leap in output, the new extrusion system is compact: a new extrusion marvel in the MAS product range. This means that the MAS 110 easily fits into larger recycling and compounding systems and can also be used successfully for upscaling existing systems.

Artificial intelligence as an evolutionary aid

Human know-how and AI-supported simulations were successfully combined during the MAS 110 development process. Intensive collaboration with THE leading simulation company in extrusion technology resulted in the relatively short time to market. The MAS 110 is universally applicable – from classic bottle-to-bottle PET recycling to the compound twin-screw extruder for all thermoplastic resins or as the extruder for direct extrusion of films – once again highlighting MAS’s global reputation as a driving force of innovation.

Foundation for further technical developments

While the MAS 110 is currently setting milestones in the extrusion of plastics, this is just the beginning for MAS. Development work and the close integration of artificial intelligence and human expertise are creating the basis for the next generation of MAS solutions. Future developments in the MAS family will certainly not be long in coming. The MAS 110 can also add tangible and sustainable value to your recycling and upcycling applications. During an informative appointment, we will determine your requirements and find a customised extruder solution that meets all challenges. Whether for upscaling existing systems or developing new lines: with MAS, the technological advantage of tomorrow is available to you today.
