Re-granulating with MAS re-compounding

The efficient
re-granulating solution

MAS re-compounding can even successfully re-granulate materials that are difficult to degas. Our re-compounding line, precisely tailored to individual requirements, ensures that the relevant materials are given the right properties and get processed for high upcycling qualities.

Our flexible, versatile machines homogenize fluctuating input qualities and enable the addition of many additives, all with impressively low energy consumption. We would be delighted to provide you with a comprehensive consultation to find the ideal re-compounding line for your application.

The ideal solution for your upcycling business

Recycled plastic is modified during re-granulation to achieve optimized properties. This upcycling method relies on the addition of additives in various forms that prepare a wide range of recycled materials for recycling, including PE, PP, ABS, PS, PA, and PET. There are hardly any material limits for our MAS lines. Anything that can be melted down can be re-granulated, while any quality losses can be corrected with appropriate additives. Colorants and UV filters are also utilized in a systematic manner to compensate for the changing quality of inputs, producing comprehensively modified re-compounds. Our experts will respond precisely to your requests and requirements to make your upcycling processes as simple, fast, precise, and high-quality as possible. Based on the information and data you provide, we will use extensive test procedures for your lines—existing or planned—to ensure the highest quality of recycled pellets.

How the
re-compounding line works

In the first step, the material is fed into a conically co-rotating MAS twin-screw extruder ; this is where the desired mixing and melting takes place. To achieve optimum results, various additives and fillers can be added using the conical co-rotating twin-screw extruder. The continuous melt filter (CDF) then removes any impurities (wood particles, paper, rubber, and other non-melting foreign plastics). The single-screw cascade extruder —with its patented melt distribution segment—enables extremely effective degassing (including pressure build-up) and increases the performance of the melt filter.

The material is granulated using strand, water ring, or underwater granulation. Finally, the material is filled, into silos or big bags, for example. We would be delighted to find the ideal solution for your requirements during an informative initial consultation.

What is MAS?

Founded by recycling pioneer Helmuth Schulz in 2006, the company is revolutionizing the exceedingly high quality standards of twin-screw extruders for the recycling industry. MAS masters the challenges of modern recycling and upcycling requirements thanks to its patented technology and became an international driver of innovation in no time. Customers around the world benefit from environmentally friendly added value while saving energy and resources.
